Catalan Journal of Communication&  Cultural StudiesCall for articles. Issue 4.1. Spring 2012.Deadline for submitting works: September 30th 2011The Catalan Journal of Communication&  Cultural Studies (CJCS) is committed to publishing research and scholarship on the analysis of media and culture. The journal welcomes original works, particularly but not exclusively, related to the Catalan cultural and media systems.

Proposals are sought for a special issue of Participations: Journal of Audience and Reception Studies on music and audiences. The theme of this issue will be an examination of the music audience from a range of perspectives, with both theoretical and empirical research welcomed on all aspects of music and reception.

The Graduate Journal of Social Science (GJSS) announces a Call for Papers and Book Reviews for a special issue dealing with methodological approaches to the study of virtual environments and online social networks. The journal encourages the submission of work by MSc/ MA/MS, MPhil, PhD students and junior academics from all geographic regions. All papers are submitted to a blind peer review process. The special issue is scheduled for December 2011.

We (Guy and co) are also happy to order copies of other titles likely to be of interest to a cultural studies readership. I have included some links to selected publishers with cultural studies lists below. (It’s also worth scanning Australian uni presses, but they don’t tend to have separate lists.)
