Call for articles: YECREA special issue of Platform: Journal of Media and Communication
 

We (Maren and Friedrich) would hereby like to announce a panel on European journal
publishing in the media and communication studies field during the
upcoming ECREA conference (in Hamburg in October).
This panel will take place on Friday, the 15th, from 9:15 to 10:45
(the place can be found in the programme).
We would particularly encourage colleagues, who are involved in
publishing, to attend the panel and join in the discussion.

Colleagues on the list may be interested in the recent publication of The Cambridge Companion to Modern British Culture (edited by Michael Higgins, Clarissa Smith and John Storey). Published by Cambridge University Press and including innovative and readable chapters by key scholars in their fields, the companion enthusiastically embraces the debates, tensions and controversies that characterise Britishness and British cultural life.

Please see below a list of review copies currently held by Cultural Studies Review. Reviews of more than one book are possible if there is a thematic link. We (Guy and co) are also happy to order copies of other titles likely to be of interest to a cultural studies readership. I have included some links to selected publishers with cultural studies lists below. (It’s also worth scanning Australian uni presses, but they don’t tend to have separate lists.)

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Sabanc University, invites applications for a faculty position in social and cultural dimensions and politics of science and technology. The position is open as of September 2010 to mid-career candidates as well as candidates who have recently completed their Ph.D or are near completion.
