Communication and Democracy: Representative

My name is Julie Uldam. I am a PhD candidate at the Department for Intercultural Communication and Management at Copenhagen Business School and Department of Media and Communications at London School of Economics. I am currently based in Copenhagen where I teach political globalisation and co-ordinate a course on the philosophy of science. My PhD project is about the role of popular online media in facilitating possibilities for contesting dominant discourses on globalisation at an organisational level. My research interests include radical democracy, activism, new media, and political collective identities. I attended the ECREA Doctoral summer school in Tartu/Estonia in 2009 which was a productive and fun experience.
 
I hope this platform can work as a knowledge pool and meeting point for the Communication & Democracy young scholars, providing news and calls for papers, publications, junior academic positions, mailing lists, funding opportunities, etc. I'd really appreciate your contributions and feedback on this.
