Germany: Country Representatives

My name is Sven Engesser. I am a research and teaching assistant at the Department of Communication Studies and Media Research at Ludwig Maximilian University Munich. I am doing a PhD on participatory journalism and quality. My research interests are journalism research, international comparison, political communication, and media systems. In 2006, I attained a Master’s degree in Communication Science, Film Studies, and Theatre Studies from Free University Berlin. My thesis was about foreign correspondents in Japan and Germany. In 2002-2003, I attended a postgraduate programme in International Media and Communication at Uppsala University. I joined YECREA at the conference in Barcelona because I consider an international network for young scholars very important. Therefore I am trying to establish a permanent link between YECREA and the German Communication Association (DGPuK).
