Intellect is delighted to announce the publication of the first issue of Volume 2 of
Studies in South Asian Film & Media.

Issue 2.1 of Studies in South Asian Film & Media includes articles which examine
representations of Bengali masculinity in popular Bengali Cinema of 1950s as well as
exploring Queer Diasporic Film and same-sex desire between two sisters-in-law in Deepa
Mehta's Fire. Other articles explore the syncretic heritage of Hindi cinema and India's
musical soul as evidenced by three books on the film music of India.
