Research Assistant x2 (Ref. N2753)

£18,643 per annum, pro rata

Part-time: 50% FTE

These part-time posts are available from 1st of July 2010 - 31st of January
2011 on a fixed term basis for 7 months

The Department of Politics is seeking to appoint two part time Research
Assistants in Cross-National Electoral Research at the Centre for Elections,
Media and Parties [CEMaP] http://centres.exeter.ac.uk/cemap/ to work with
Prof. Susan Banducci on the EU-funded project "Providing an Infrastructure
for Research on Electoral Democracy in the European Union" (PIREDEU) for 7
months.

The positions offer an excellent opportunity to join a major international
research programme focusing on the study of electoral democracy in the
European Union undertaking original research and contributing to group
research projects. Specifically, the post holder's would spend time
supporting the project management by engaging in data analysis, report
writing and coordination across partners in the PIREDEU research project.

Applicants should have a good first degree, and have, or be near completion
of, a PhD in Political Science or a related discipline. Applicants should
demonstrate that they have advance level skills in ICT and can organise
their time and communicate effectively. You need to be able to work flexibly
and effectively, both independently and as part of a team, be able to
prioritise your workload to meet fixed deadlines.

The starting salary will be £18,643 per annum, pro rata on Grade D. The
hours of work will be approximately 18 per week; start and finish times will
be flexible.
