Taking the title of the workshop literally, discussion-groups will focus on questions like how to actually write the past beyond boundaries methodologically and based on and sustained by which sources. What could boundaries mean besides of political borders and where can they be drawn? How can communication and media history be understood beyond the context of nation and culture? Are there alternatives to thinking of spaces as containers? Transnational and comparative approaches in Communication History will be confronted to productively raise new questions and to find new or complementary answers to existing research issues.
The workshop schedule and the titles of the mentor's keynote statements will we added shortly.
The workshop takes place on the day before the inaugural conference of the ECREA Communication History Section and the farewell drinks of the conference will be combined with the get together of the conference.
