Title of the presentation:
Developing research on web 2.0 platforms

Short abstract of the presentation:
This lecture outlines the development of a study on the use of web 2.0 platforms for issue campaigning and political activism. Based on a research project that is currently in its initial stages, the lecture highlights the methodological and theoretical challenges posed by the investigation of web 2.0 platforms and suggests some solutions. The challenges stem from a fundamental shift in the function of the web: from a relatively static page that transmits information one-way to a platform for collaboration and interaction where users are treated as co-creators rather than as consumers of content.
